Who We Are
I'm Deb Dempsey, and Tonya Payne has been my best friend for more than 25 years. Between the two of us, we've spent years in retail and small business ownership and have made every mistake in the book. Together, we now own Mouthfuls, Inc., a multi-faceted pet business we started in 1999. Our flagship retail store began receiving awards from Denver’s lifestyle magazine less than a year after opening and continues to receive them year after year.
I graduated with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and have worked in the upscale clothing, book, gourmet food, airport and pet retail industries. I'm the visual side of Mouthfuls and can create a beautiful, organized environment that will maximize every square inch of your retail space.
Tonya Payne has owned numerous, profitable small businesses both in and out of the retail industry. She is a shrewd negotiator with landlords and vendors and specializes in locating unique, low-cost fixtures and displays. She is also the math wizard in the team and is a master of cash flow balancing and budgeting.
Together, we can set up an amazing retail business from scratch or revamp a struggling existing store with minimal cost. We are also a lot of fun and very approachable. There's no sense in doing something if you're not going to have fun and make money at the same time!
